Falling For Nude

Hey guys! Welcome to the First Day of Fall, arent you excited? I know i am, i want to post my first official blog as part of the Chicago Blogger Network. I am so excited to be apart of the family! Well today, im going to be discussing how to work with the color nude. Nude is a hard color to work because its so blah, boring sometimes and usually only comes in panti-hoes. Well as you can see i really went super formal, today my cousin got married, in a small lovely ceremony and i really wanted to dress up for occasion. I have been dying to wear this dress, but i was thinking how am i going to make this work for me? I am a bigger girl (but i did loose 65 pounds and counting!) but i really like high line dresses on my body type, but nude is super hard color, so i chose the darker leggings to bring a pop, of tones to my legs, i also chose white necklace to focus on the upper body part so it sets the dress of even more, as well as my hat was darker to bring more of a tonal range of nudes and browns. Its important, to try to remember don’t be afraid to add dark & light in this case with nude, because it has to work together. I added the fur for fun because it was a gift (thanks connie!) and i love it! This weekend, i really am focusing on more styling than anything and giving pieces of advice what works for me, and what can work for you to, just remember nude doesnt always belong with black, you can make it fun by adding other earthy-tones to make any outfit pop, even try NEON! Neon+Nude work amazing together! I hope that you enjoy this little tip on nude pairing. Happy Weekend xx.

Well, im back in the full swing of blogging! Hey there! If your like me, you rely on the internet for your information, plus (i live in the boringest state ever) and we have no sense of who the heck these people are, so let me start of by saying this is a recap of yesterdays shows, my pics for S/S 2013 From Ralph Rucci, DVF, and Tracy Reese.

Lets start off with My new favorite : Ralph Rucci, the little bold of color he uses in this jacket is to die for. You thought neon went out with that fanny pack? Well wrong! Heres two picks for R.R S/S 2013

Ok la, moving on to Tracy Reese (Who we all know dresses Michelle Obama , The First Lady) We love color and boy does she got color in here S/S 2013 collection , you have got to see these printed pants!

I for one just love the bold colors tracy uses here, i mean this says again #its spring im here, lets be merry, and really bright, because we all love a little brightness right?

NYFW… Is the promise land!

#NYFW is the land that everyone dreams of going, (hi i haven’t wrote a blog post in along time but im going to now) i’ve been dreaming of New York ever since i fell in love with the scene of it, but circumstantial things prevent me from going to it. I’m a die hard obsessive person when it comes to really interesting fashion, i had a chance to view the Alexander Wang show, and i about dropped dead when i saw that they were glow in the dark dresses, how could YOU not love something as innovative as that?  In his spring collection, alot of whites /blacks/ cutouts/ very bold lines. Very Interesting take on Modern sleek lines

you can watch the entire wang show here :

Amongst other things ive been following is alot of amazingness with Sirano this Spring, very “Merry Merry Ring Time Spring”. Lots of pastels, and frills but yet tasteful and elegant Christian, pushes himself i think more than what i saw of the Fall 2012 Line, from very dark to very light a very comprehensive cut/edit. I do enjoy the cleanliness of the dresses and very straight lines. and yet very girlish gleaming to the gowns

check out a preview here:

These two are my 2 major picks for NYFW because not only do i enjoy pastels, i DO love glow in the dark. ^ please watch these videos you will just be blown away at the enormous talent involved here. Someday i can only hope to be in that front row seeing that as you see it on the videos.

It’s A Jolly Holiday, When We Go A Yard’ Sailin

Hello again, Ok here’ we go with post #2. Saturdays are usually my days i don’t work, and since i’ve been really sore i took a break from the gym (if you didn’t know before ive lost 42 pounds in 4 months).  Normally when i yard sale, i pick out the ones i want to go to, here a a few tips!

1. Vintage, – Usually estate sales, are the best for this because they have either died, or moved on, (sometimes depending on the home, if its elderly people its usually vintage)

2. Clothes- going into knowing what size you are exactly helps. Because usually you cant try it on.

3. Bargain- i usually try to haggle with people if i dont feel like the price is right, but i’ve come across amazing sales with stories behind everything i buy. Hence why i love yardsales!

Credits:

(1st Photo)

Daria Dvd- (I LOVE DARIA) $.50 cents.

Miscellaneous Jewelry – think 25 cents for these. (the big belt buckle was 1.00 because i recycle jewelry so i was making this into something else)

Unicorn Book- (its a journal) -25 cents.

Indian Coin Purse- 25 cents

(the dvd, the coin purse and the book i got all of it for 1.00 at one yard sale)

(picture 2)

Vintage German Suitcase – $.25 cents – I saw it and had to have it, im a SUCKER for vintage suitcases

Mexico Purse- (this purse actually came from mexico the lady purchased it there but never used it) -$5.00

The Cute Weird Fruit Decorations- They are christmas ornaments but I thought they were funny! So i purchased them from a multi-family sale.

(Picture 3- see reference to picture 2)

(Picture 4):

Kitty Umbrella-  $.76 cents ( Picked this up from the Disabled American Veterans Thrift Shop was 95 cents *but saturdays it’s 20% off)

Clothes- I got a blue shrug, a puma halter, some bloomers (BRAND NEW), A danskin workout top, some leg warmers – all from one yard sale (including a dress which will be featured on a later blog posting) all for 6.00 (multi-family sale)

These are my finds for Saturday June 2, 2012. – Hope you enjoy looking at them! I hope some of my tips are helpful!
